Do not confuse radiation power (roughly speaking, brightness) and electrical power. Often, power in watts is indicated on infrared lights, but this indicator only indicates what current the IR diode consumes and does not in any way characterize the real efficiency of an infrared flashlight. The consumption current of our diodes is 1.5A, but there are several dozen diodes with such a consumption current on the world market, which differ greatly in both their efficiency and design (diode size, beam spreading angle). Diode and flashlight compatibility (lens size and shape, lens-to-diode distance) is a very important aspect to maximize the efficiency of an infrared flashlight. We attach great importance to the selection of components.
Wavelength radiation 850 nm Is the range partially visible to humans and animals. The glow of the IR flashlight diode in this range is visible at close range in the form of a red dot, the beam itself is not visible. Illumination range of an IR flashlight in complete darkness 250-500 m (depends on the quality of the night vision device); operating time from one 18650 battery (3400 ma) about 2-2.5 hours. This IR flashlight can be used with any night vision devices - Image intensifier tubes I-III generation and digital devices.
The beam spot is round, and due to the aspherical lens evenly illuminates the entire field of view of the night vision device. This is the main advantage of a LED infrared flashlight over a laser one. A laser flashlight has a beam spot, usually in the form of a grid and a narrow strip. Due to the uniform illumination of the entire field of view of night sights, the picture quality of digital sights is much better than with laser illumination. Many lasers are not recommended to operate at temperatures below -5 degrees. A laser of similar power is very dangerous for eyesight !!!!
