Do not confuse radiation power (roughly speaking, brightness) and electrical power. Often, power in watts is indicated on infrared lights, but this indicator only indicates what current the IR diode consumes and does not in any way characterize the real efficiency of an infrared flashlight. The consumption current of our diodes is 1.5A, but there are several dozen diodes with such a consumption current on the world market, which differ greatly in both their efficiency and design (diode size, beam spreading angle). Diode and flashlight compatibility (lens size and shape, lens-to-diode distance) is a very important aspect to maximize the efficiency of an infrared flashlight. We attach great importance to the selection of components.
Wavelength radiation 850 nm Is the range partially visible to humans and animals. The glow of the IR flashlight diode in this range is visible at close range in the form of a red dot, the beam itself is not visible. Illumination range of an IR flashlight in complete darkness 250-500 m (depends on the quality of the night vision device); operating time from one 18650 battery (3400 ma) about 2-2.5 hours. This IR flashlight can be used with any night vision devices - Image intensifier tubes I-III generation and digital devices.
The beam spot is round, and due to the aspherical lens evenly illuminates the entire field of view of the night vision device. This is the main advantage of a LED infrared flashlight over a laser one. A laser flashlight has a beam spot, usually in the form of a grid and a narrow strip. Due to the uniform illumination of the entire field of view of night sights, the picture quality of digital sights is much better than with laser illumination. Many lasers are not recommended to operate at temperatures below -5 degrees. A laser of similar power is very dangerous for eyesight !!!!
Infrared light supplied with adjustable mount... This is a very important aspect when choosing an IR illumination. Adjusting the direction of the beam allows you to raise the infrared illumination beam just above the optical axis of the sight, and this avoids the backlighting of the foreground.

I hunt at night for many years. Yuzal nightlights on image intensifier tubes of all generations and digital cameras.
At the very EOP 2+ I tried a bunch of different lights with it, since in less than half a moon it already fades. But this lantern is something special…. No lasers were scattered around!
I really have not seen better than this. In total darkness 150-200 m as in the day. And do not listen to the tales that the wild boar leaves the 850 lantern. It goes away from your smell and noise, not a lantern…. checked more than once. On a cleaver alone (after the rut I did not want to shoot) it was shining for 7-8 minutes, but he didn’t care.

Great flashlight! I have a pulsar 880, on a moonless night, 400 m (rangefinder), you can shoot in place without any problems. I took the wolf from 340 m, lay down on the spot. For many nights I tried to take the gray one, but without this lantern I could not even see his eyes. I see it in the thermal imager, but I can't take it. Before that I tried a bunch of lanterns, the whole hunting team got frightened and spent a lot of money on buying their own ...

The red dot at maximum brightness is, of course, visible…. but at long range it doesn't matter. The flashlight is really long-range. We often ride with the boys in a car, with this flashlight any field at a glance.
And in the forest I set it to the minimum brightness and don't even turn it off all night, the red dot is barely noticeable ... like a laser 915 pulsar, up to 50-70 m is enough. One battery is enough in this mode for several nights.

I have been actively using the UkroPNV attachment since October 2016, everything is fine. I took two lamps and 940 nm and 850 nm, the most powerful. To be honest, the 940 is idle. Wild boar, goat, wolf, fox, etc. do not react to the 850 flashlight if you do not click at the moment the beast exits. I immediately turn on the flashlight to the minimum brightness and sit quietly, at the moment when I need to increase the power to the required one. The very illumination of the beast does not frighten if it is static, it seems to get used to it. But the approach is different, here 50/50. Because it is impossible to move silently and the point of the lantern itself is in motion. But with such a hunt, I did not find a big difference in the reaction of the beast to 850 or 940 backlighting. Only with an 850 flashlight I can shoot at 200-250 m at a high magnification of the sight, and with 940 I need to approach 100-120 m, and this is very difficult for the beast to hear rather than see

The 940nm lantern you bought had 1000mW of power. The one we are selling now has a radiation power of 1450 mW. The range of a possible shot with such a flashlight is confidently up to 150-200 m with our attachment on a normal sight. Detection of the beast by the eyes up to 300 m
